Kelly McEvers is an American news reporter. She currently serves as host for NPR’s “Embedded” podcast. MvEver is a two-time award-winning journalist who previously served as anchor of NPR’s flagship news magazine. Much of her career was spent in Asia as an international correspondent.
As a foreign correspondent for NPR, she covered major international events such as the withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, the uprisings in the Middle East linked to the Arab Spring, and the civil war in Syria. Kelly is currently the host and creator of the acclaimed podcast Embedded. Kelly’s documentary show goes to hard places to make sense of the news.

Kelly began her career in 1997 at the Chicago Tribune as a newspaper reporter. From there, Kelly from 1999 to 2000 continued to cover Cambodia for the BBC. McEvers later moved on to Indonesia, Malaysia as a freelance reporter, and then Singapore after 9/11.
