Jill Gilardi is an American broadcast meteorologist currently working for WBRC FOX 6 News in Birmingham, Alabama. He joined the channel’s First Alert Weather team on December 30, 2013. He also worked in St. Joseph and Springfield, Missouri before going to WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska in 2011.
Gilardi is an educated and certified graduate of Lyndon State College in Vermont with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. He also earned the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal of approval from the American Meteorological Society. He started Storm chasing in 2008 and even worked for a Storm Company, Extreme Chase Tours.
Her passion for weather was after Hurricane Gloria in 1985 in Massachusetts. From then on, Jill became obsessed with hurricane watching, always wanting to be in the thick of the storm. Still, she remembers begging her parents to either drive her through 6 inches of snow or take her to the beach to watch the waves from a tropical system.
As an animal lover, she adopted 3 cats from a local Birmingham rescue. However, when Gilardi isn’t working, you can find her at the gym, playing sports, gardening, yard work, and camping. The journalist is also an artist in her spare time.
