Christopher Kane is a Scottish fashion designer who established his name in the industry with his crafty original ideas and designs. She was born in Scotland but moved to London in 2000 to study at Central Saint Martins where she completed a foundation course in fine art along with a BA and MA in fashion design.
After his studies, he had the opportunity to work with big names in the industry such as Giles Deacon and Russell Sage. He was noticed by Donatella Versace in 2005 after winning the Lancôme Color Award. He also won the Harrods Design Award for his MA GRaduate collection, consisting of £1,500 and a showcase at Harrods from 24 January to 8 March 2006.
That same year he started working on his own line and soon opened his own shop with his sister. In February 2007, he launched his Capsule Collection stores for Topshop and won Designer of the Year at the Scottish Fashion Awards. Later, in December of the same year, he became the new designer of the year at the British Fashion Awards.
His menswear collection debuted in early 2010 and his previous collection was also showcased on the runway at the Lakme Fashion Week in India. In the same year, she won the first Vogue Fashion Found of £200,000. Additionally, it was added to the L20 list and was number 45 on the list. Kane left his partnership with Versace in November 2011.
