Biography Andy Farnsworth
Andy Farnsworth is an American journalist who has been head of traffic at KSL since 2003. For almost a decade he was the only air traffic reporter in Utah and was KSL NewsRadio’s “Eye in the Sky” before landing. at the KSL Traffic Center. Andy is currently the main presenter of the “Utah Morning News with Grant & Amanda” release from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. In addition, he covered BYU home football matches, occasionally reporting on television and radio, and co-hosted “The Nightside Project” and “The Browsers” on KSL Radio.
He has been involved in traffic reporting in one form or another since 1998, when he began his radio career with Metro Networks as a trainee who shared updates on air traffic talent during the morning driving time. After that, he got a plan for producing traffic updates, spent some time writing and creating news and sports copies for the radio. He then became an air traffic reporter for three stations in 2000.
The reason he was an air traffic reporter for three stations was because he was literally the only person there at the time. He spent nearly 10,000 hours in this small Cessna 172. In addition, he was on the plane during the 9/11 attacks, the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics and almost all of the 1-15 reconstruction projects.
