Early life


Sandy Botros Immigrated from Egypt with her family to the United States of America in late 2012. In the same year, she received her college’s student of the year award. She was valedictorian of her high school class in 2018.

Education


Sandy is currently a pharmacy student at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, New Brunswick during her professional years, completing a Doctor of Pharmacy. She also plans to pursue an MD in order to fulfill her dream of working in clinical trial research. Sandy chose a non-traditional field by starting pharmacy school right out of high school without earning an undergraduate degree.

Achievements

Sandy has received numerous Hudson County and New Jersey State awards for academic achievement. She also received the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence which was signed by former President Barack Obama. She is an active member of the New Jersey clinical trial research community and gained this membership after conducting research on the Oncore clinical trial management system. She was recently nominated for the UK’s Most Inspirational Women 2022 award.

In 2021, Sandy started her own nonprofit/blog Women can lead of which she is the founder and president.

Women can lead is designed to inspire young women and encourage them to get involved in all possible careers. Since women are typically underrepresented in STEM majors, especially in research, her organization helps girls start careers in these fields and push beyond the limits of their dreams. She has also held numerous leadership positions in national organizations such as the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success.
