After Zendaya pregnancy rumors went viral on social media, the Euphoria actress released a rare statement.
Zendaya is speaking out after being the subject of pregnancy rumours.
Over the past few days, a few TikTok videos have gone viral that mistakenly resemble the Euphoria actress expecting a baby with boyfriend Tom Holland. They incorporate a growing “Krissed” meme, complete with an image of Kris Jenner, to admit prank at the end.
On June 15, 25-year-old Zendaya posted a statement on her Instagram Story. “See now this is why I’m staying off Twitter,” she wrote. “I just do stuff for no reason every week.”
“Anyway, back to filming…Challengers,” the actress added, referencing the new romantic drama she’s been shooting with The Crown’s Josh O’Connor and West Side Story’s Mike Faist.
A prank video, shared by TikTok user @robairesbussy, includes a photoshopped photo of Zendaya with a baby bump, walking with Holland, and the words, “WAIT SINCE ZENDAYA WAS PREGNANT.” The caption says the clip is a “#joke”.
Another TikTok video, posted by user Ryan Roberts, shows the poster pretending to gasp in the image of an ultrasound of a fetus around 20 weeks old, superimposed on a screenshot of a real Instagram post that Zendaya shared on January 30, which contained a promo for Euphoria. She had included the caption, “I love you. Halfway [heart emoji].” The TikTok user edited it to look like she tagged Zendaya’s Spider-Man co-star Tom. The TikTok video also included a text box with the words “He doesn’t there’s no way.”
At the end of the clip, a “dancing” Kris is shown, along with the text “YOU JUST KISSED…SEND THIS TO YOUR FRIENDS AT #KRIS THEM!”
When a user noticed the video going viral on Twitter, the creator replied, “Just saw.”
Another person wrote: ‘It’s not funny and I’m sorry whoever started it because what’s happening is really happening.’ Ryan replied, “That’s funny.”
After Zendaya posted her Instagram Stories, a few users told Roberts that Zendaya was “mad at” him. He replied, “I was noticed.”
