Tele Samad was born on January 8, 1945 in the district of Munshiganj, under the presidency of Bengal, in British India. He grew up in the village of Noagao under Sirajdikhan Upazila. His older brother, Abdul Hai, was a well-known artist. He follows his brother and studies at the University of Dhaka in Fine Arts. Samad graduated from university.
