Stephon Peters-Smith(Born Jul 4, 1998) , in Port Of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago known professionally as Son of Mars, is a rapper, record producer and songwriter. Known for his high energy and 90s inspired beats. He was born and raised in the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago. He moved to the United States when he was 17, residing in Columbus IN. Mars first started gaining underground recognition as an artist after releasing his song “Anakin” from his 2019 EP Son of Mars. His single “Watch Yourself” produced by Ricky Johnson has reached over 100,000 views on Youtube Music. He currently resides in West New York, New Jersey. He was listed in Thisis50 “Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2021” after the release of his EP.

Early life
Son of Mars was born in Trinidad and Tobago and spent most of his childhood there, life is fast and difficult there. The country has the second highest crime rate after Jamaica. When she was 17, her parents took every opportunity to move their family to the United States. Mars was immediately introduced to the world at a young age, which helped him become the balanced fund manager he is today. Graduated from Columbus North High School, Columbus IN.
Career
Start
MarchHis profession fell into three distinct areas, but what sets him apart from others is that he shaped his life learning from each of the encounters he had along the way and arrived at the pinnacle of his vocation. Mars began his career journey in 2017 as part of the band FOG which would later become the first label to sign him.
FamilyOverGold Ent
It was in 2019 that Mars started working for FOG Records in New York, New York where he became a guide and essential person to the organization as well as their key craftsmen. He was able to pursue both business and music at the highest level. In July 2020, Mars began working with Grammy-nominated producer and engineer Jak Brown in Atlanta GA.
Son of Mars EP
In 2019, Mars took his career to the next level and released his debut EP “SOM”. Mars composed and recorded the EP himself, while attending the University of Rochester. The EP features three dynamic tracks titled “First Born”, “Watch Yourself” and “Anakin” which seamlessly combine catchy songwriting with a dash of competing Atlanta trap melodies. The product is a versatile sound that blends Son of Mars’ Trinidadian roots with the vast number of American cultures he has been exposed to and embraced over the years.
