He has served on many BBC shows including Newsbeat on BBC Radio 1, Breakfast with Frost and BBC Radio Five Live. Rachel also served as Reporter 2 for BBC Essex on their Breakfast programme.
He became part of CBBC’s flagship news programme, Newsround in December 2002. Horne was part of the news team and main reporter alongside Lizzie Greenwood-Hughes, Thalia Pellegrini and Adam Fleming.
Initially, Rachel presented a spin-off program called Newsround Showbiz until it was axed in 2005 due to poor ratings. He left Newsround in 2006 to join BBC Two’s flagship business programme, Working Lunch.
