The Cannes Film Festival is considered one of the most popular film festivals in the world, and many believe it to be a great platform to showcase their talent or films. As access to Cannes is much easier than others, India also looks forward to being part of the experience every year.

You read about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Katrina Kaif going to Cannes. Then last year, Masaan was particularly appreciated when the film was screened in the competitive Un Certain Regard section.

Although any film can be screened at Cannes, if you have the money to pay the entry fee, only a few are selected for the competitive categories, as this is where they focus on taking more quality stuff. To note, not a single Indian film is selected in the competitive categories at Cannes this year, at least in the feature sections.
