Career Laura Trevelyan
Laura started her career in journalism in 1991. She was still living in London and working as a general reporter for the London Newspaper Group at the time. Laura joined Channel 4 a year later as a researcher on A Week in Politics.
In 1993 she began working as a researcher for the BBC’s Breakfast News. In addition, Laura works as an assistant producer for Newsnight. Laura joined On the Record in 1994 where she covered the IRA ceasefire and the peace process in Northern Ireland.
Her attention eventually turned to political news. He covered the 2001 general election and the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq. She was the BBC’s political correspondent in London from 1999 to 2004 until she went to the United States to cover the 2004 presidential election.
He then worked for the United Nations from 2006 to 2009. He traveled to Darfur, Congo, Burma and Sri Lanka while serving in this capacity. She was the first journalist to interview UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. She worked as the BBC’s New York correspondent until 2012 after nearly three years reporting at the UN.
He covered everything from the debate over the proposed mosque at Ground Zero to the cholera epidemic in Haiti. She then went on to work as a presenter/correspondent for BBC World News America.
