Katy Perry, who happens to be the judge on American Idol, suffered a wardrobe malfunction this week when her leather pants ripped. Well, while wardrobe malfunction isn’t something uncommon among celebrities, Perry’s malfunction came while she was performing on American Idol on Monday. But what exactly happened with Katy Perry?

Katy Perry performed “Teenage Dream” on Monday’s episode
While American Idol brings some interesting performances to watch from contestants on the show. Everyone on Monday’s episode was seen dancing and singing along to Katy Perry’s song. Monday’s episode had everyone from the contestants to the judges all seen singing and grooving to the songs being sung.
Katy Perry sang her hit song “Teenage Dream” on Monday’s episode. As the contestants and judges danced and sang Perry’s song, Katy’s wardrobe malfunction occurred. She literally found herself in an embarrassing situation when her tight leather pants ripped in the middle of her performance.
Katy Perry’s leather pants ripped off during a concert
Katy Perry wore red leather pants and a sleeveless top for her episode on Monday. While the other two American Idol judges Lionel Richie & Luke Bryan also sang with Perry his hit song. She bent over and her red leather pants were ripped off.
The singer was singing a line on skinny jeans and her wardrobe malfunction left her embarrassed by the situation. Bryan on Dysfunction said “They erupted” as everyone burst out laughing. While the other judge officially announced the end of the concert.
Perry taped his pants to continue
Meanwhile, the singer was left with her low-rise jeans ripped off. She asked for yellow duct tape to cover the torn part of her leather pants to continue. The show however continued with her covering her pants with the duct tape. The other two judges, however, tried to help him properly cover his ripped pants.
However, the wardrobe malfunction Perry suffered was not his first time, as it has happened before as well. Well, just like Monday’s episode, Katy Perry, in her earlier dysfunction, also asks for help with the gang to handle it.
