Biography of John Stossel
John Stossel is a famous American journalist, commentator and author. He is best known for his role on the ABC news magazine 20/20. Previously, John worked for both Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. He was born and raised in Chicago Heights, Illinois, United States.
Stossel attended high school at New Trier High School where he graduated before joining Princeton University where he received a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 1969. Shortly after graduation, he worked at KGW in Portland, Oregon where he served as a team researcher. After a while, he left the station to join WCBS in New York where he worked as a consumer reporter. In addition, John also served as consumer editor for ABC’s Good Morning America before becoming a correspondent for 20/20 in 1981.
In addition, Stossel was named co-host of 20/20 in May 2003 while writing his first book, Give Me a Break: How I Exposed Hucksters, Cheats, and Scam Artists and Became the Scourge of the Liberal Media, which was published in 2004. In 2009, John left ABC News to join News Corp.’s Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network. There he was responsible for hosting a weekly news show called Stossel on Fox Business, which debuted on December 10, 2009, airing in prime time every Thursday and repeating on both Saturdays and Sundays. John also appears frequently on Fox News in a weekly show on The O’Reilly Factor, in addition to writing the Fox News blog, “John Stossel’s Take” and providing signature analysis.
