Iliza Shlesinger Biography
Iliza Vie Shlesinger is an American award-winning comedian, actress, television host, executive producer and screenwriter. Recently, she released her 6th stand-up special Hot Forever on Netflix and her second book All Things Aside. Previously, Shlesinger served as the host of her own late-night talk show Truth & Iliza on Freeform.
Shlesinger completed high school at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, where she studied Spanish and participated in the school’s improv team. Later, he enrolled at the University of Kansas and then transferred to Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts where he majored in film. During her time there, she was a member of one of the campus sketch comedy groups, Jimmy’s Traveling All-Stars.
Shortly after graduating from college, Iliza moved to Los Angeles to pursue stand-up comedy. While in Los Angeles, he becomes the most popular member of a group of standup comedians. In 2007, Shlesinger won Myspace’s So You Think You’re Funny contest and was featured as the G4 network’s Myspace Girl of the Week. In the following years she became the first female and youngest winner of NBC’s Last Comic Standing.
In addition, Shlesinger was selected twice by other comedians to compete in the remaining eliminations, in which she won. After that, he appeared on The Last Comic Standing Tour. In 2010, she released her own comedy videos on her website, including Man Up and Act Like a Lady. From 2007 to 2012, Iliza hosted The Weakly News on TheStream.tv. Likewise, she also hosted a reality-based dating competition series Excused on the syndicated US show.

In 2016, Shlesinger started her own channel called Freeform, which started airing in the following years. The following year, she appeared in the Netflix film Spenser Confidential and The Iliza Shlesinger Sketch Show. In addition, Iliza starred in, wrote and executive produced the romantic comedy Good on Paper, which premiered on Netflix in 2021. In addition, she made her sixth stand-up comedy special Iliza Shlesinger: Hot Forever which premiered on Netflix in October of 2022. Schlesinger has also published her own book titled Girl Logic: The Genius and the Absurdity.
