Seungkwan Biography
Boo Seung-kwan also known as Seungkwan, is a South Korean singer and entertainer under Pledis Entertainment. He is a member of the South Korean boy group Seventeen under Vocal Team. Apart from that, Seungkwan is popular for his entertainment show such as Unexpected Q, Prison Life of Fools, and Idol Dictation Contest. He is also a member of the BSS special unit along with Hoshi and DK.
Seungkwan was born in Busan but grew up in Jeju-do, South Korea. He attended high school at Seoul Broadcasting High School, where he took part in various competitions. In 2012, he appeared on Pledis Entertainment after his video went viral while singing. He joined the South Korean boy band, Seventeen with their extended project 17 Carat while still in high school. After graduating from the school in 2016, two years later he released his single 'Kind of Love' for the soundtrack of the series Mother.
Later, Boo joined Hoshi and DK in a sub-unit called BSS and released their debut single “Just Do It”. In addition to his singing career, he also appeared on the talk show Unexpected Q. He was also awarded the 2018 MBC Entertainment Awards. In addition, Seungkwan also appeared on the talk show Five Cranky Brothers as well as Prison Life of Fools. As of 2021, he participated in the soundtrack of the series Lovestruck in the City with a song titled “The Reason”. In addition, Boo also released the single “Go” for the soundtrack of the Record of Youth series.
Along with Super Junior Eunhyuk and Kang Ho-dong, they participated in the TV series Job Dongsan and the Idol Dictation Contest. Seungkwan also made an appearance on tvN's new badminton program Racket Boys, which also featured Olympic champion Oh Sang-uk among others. In 2022, Boo received the 'Male Idol Entertainer' award at the Korea First Brand Daesang.
