
Dipu Moni (born 8 December 1965) is a Bangladeshi politician, current Minister of Education in the Government of Bangladesh and former Minister of Foreign Affairs. She is known as the first female foreign minister and the first female education minister of Bangladesh. Also, he is the Joint Secretary General of the Bangladesh Awami League. Since 2008, he has been an MP for Chandpur-3 constituency.

Early life
Dipu Moni was born on 8th December 1965 in Kamranga village of Rampur Union of Chandpur Sadar Upazila. [3] His father was Ekushey Medal-winning language activist and politician MA Wadud. Mother Rahima Wadud was a teacher. Among his 2 siblings, only brother JR Wadud Tipu is a doctor.
Education
Dipu Moni passed HSC from Holy Cross College. He did MBBS from Dhaka Medical College and LLB from National University of Bangladesh. After completing his MBBS degree, he completed his MPH degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health, USA. [5] He also obtained an LLM from the University of London [6] and a course on Conciliation and Conflict Resolution from Harvard University. [ citation needed ]
Family
The husband of Taufiq Nawaz Dipu Moni, a lawyer at the Supreme Court of Bangladesh. He runs an international law firm. He is an ‘alap’ artist. They have two children. Son Tauqir Rashad Nawaz and daughter Tani Deepavali Nawaz.

Political life
Dipu Moni was elected MP for Chandpur-3 constituency as the Awami League candidate in the ninth National Parliament election in 2008. [9] At the same time, she was appointed as Bangladesh’s first female foreign minister in Sheikh Hasina’s cabinet. He was elected MP for Chandpur-3 constituency as Awami League candidate in the 10th National Parliament election in 2014. [10] Also chaired the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs. He was appointed Deputy Secretary General at the 20th Awami League Council held in 2016.
In the 11th national parliamentary election of 2018, he was elected MP for Chandpur-3 constituency as the candidate of Awami League. [12] Simultaneously appointed Minister of Education. [13] She is Bangladesh’s first female Minister of Education.
In addition, she is currently the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of Asian Women’s University.
