Demi Moore’s addiction to ex-husband Ashton Kutcher ‘devastated’ her family

Demi Moore’s addiction to Ashton Kutcher’s ‘devastated’ family as she opens up about relapse

Demi Moore has opened up about her “addiction” to ex-husband Ashton Kutcher, admitting it was “devastating” to her family.

The Ghost actress was married to the What Happens In Vegas star for eight years, before ending their relationship in 2011 and divorcing in 2013.

And the 56-year-old, who struggled with alcohol addiction in the past, explained that her ‘addiction’ to her now ex had ‘took her away’.

During an appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk – on Facebook Watch – she told the host: “The addiction and co-dependency… like my addiction to Ashton – it was probably almost more devastating because it seriously alienated me emotionally.”

Demi also recalled the time she was on vacation with the No Strings Attached star when she relapsed and started drinking again, after 20 years of sobriety.

‘Ashton said, ‘I don’t know if alcoholism is a thing. I think it’s a matter of moderation.” If I had stayed close to working my schedule… I, of course, have lived most of my adult life sober. I was very sober.

Explaining why she decided to start drinking again, she revealed she ‘tried to fit the mold of the woman he wanted his wife to be’ – but insisted he wasn’t. not the “cause” of his relapse.

‘I made up my own story, that he wanted someone he could have wine with that he could do stuff with [with],’ she says.

“He’s not the cause of why I opened that door. I wanted to be something other than who I am. And that was literally like giving my power away.

Demi was joined on the show by her daughters Rumer and Tallulah – whom she shares with Bruce Willis – who spoke about their own experiences with her addiction.

The youngest daughter, Tallulah, 25, admitted seeing her mother with Ashton left her feeling “unloved”.

‘Looking at the behavior with Ashton, those years, because everyone had left the house and it was just me living there. I felt very forgotten and I feel like I developed and nurtured a narrative where she didn’t like me and I really believed in her,’ she confessed.

“I know she does, 100%, but in that moment you’re hurt.”

The Stripper actress recently left fans shocked after she accused Ashton of cheating on her twice during their marriage, in her explosive new autobiography.

The couple ended their relationship in 2011 – but divorced two years later – and the 41-year-old has since moved on with Mila Kunis.

However, Demi’s book release brought their doomed marriage back into the spotlight, as she claimed he had been unfaithful twice and asked him for threesomes during their romance – something she agreed to sound like to a “cool woman”.

She wrote: ‘I wanted to show him how awesome and fun I could be’, but called the two trios a ‘mistake’.

Demi then claimed to have cheated on her, with Brittney Jones, in 2010, writing: “Because we brought a third party into our relationship, Ashton said, it blurred the lines and to some extent vindicated what ‘He did.”
