Demi Moore says she was ‘addicted’ to Ashton Kutcher
The couple separated in 2011 after six years of marriage
Demi Moore has compared her former marriage to Ashton Kutcher to an “addiction”.
The actress was talking to Jada Pinkett-Smith, her daughter Willow and her mother Adrienne Banfield Norris, for their Facebook Watch show Red Table Talk. She was joined by her daughters – whom she had with ex-husband Bruce Willis – Rumer and Tallulah, for the candid interview.
Reflecting on many areas of her past and her life, due for her upcoming memoir, Inside Out, the Ghost actress opened up about her relationship with Kutcher – who she was married to for eight years from 2005 to 2013 and specifically from a time with him when she also relapsed with her alcohol addiction.
‘Addiction [was] in co-dependency,” Moore says. “My addiction to Ashton was probably almost more devastating [than alcohol] because it took me seriously, emotionally.
Moore’s two daughters added that they found Moore’s time with Ashton difficult, with Tallulah saying she felt “forgotten”.

Moore and Kutcher announced their separation in 2011, with the couple finalizing their divorce in 2013. A year later, Kutcher married his wife Mila Kunis, and the couple now have two children.
Moore’s book – a New York Times bestseller – has made global headlines for its raw and candid content where Moore writes about his rocky relationship with his mother, his teenage rape and his painful temporary estrangement from her family when she relapsed into alcohol addiction.
In September, Moore’s close friend Gwyneth Paltrow hosted a book launch party for the actress which was attended by friends including Kate Hudson, Goldie Hawn, Jenni Konner, her three daughters as well as her ex-husband. Willis and his wife Emma Heming-Willis.
