Chrissy Metz is an award-winning American actress and singer from Florida, USA. She rose to fame playing the role of Kate Person in This is Us from 2018 to 2022. Metz also gained more fame and recognition for her other roles in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser (2018) and Breakthrough (2019). Her other famous roles are in Loveless in Los Angeles, Stay Awake, A Creature Was Stirring and Entourage.
Metz was born and raised in the northern suburbs of Homestead, Florida. However, Metz also spent some years of her early childhood in Japan after her father was stationed there by the US Navy. She was able to complete middle and high school in Gainesville, Florida after her family moved from Japan. She also continued her studies at an art college based in Florida.
Before starting her acting career, Chrissy worked at McDonald’s restaurant based in Gainesville. She worked there to raise money to buy a $120 pair of sneakers that her mother refused to buy her.
