Shane Coopersmith is an American Deckhand and TV personality who rose to fame starring in Below Deck in February 2020. Coopersmith is a California native who grew up on the water and learned to swim before he could walk. He grew up surfing, camping and snorkelling. Being a talented snorkeler, he likes to practice his ecological ideals for the guest and his crew by diving under the waves to catch, clean and eat food.
The show, Below deck it’s about a group of young people who work on yachts and live on luxury, privately owned vessels while ensuring that the ever-changing needs of their discerning clients are met.
Coopersmith studied at Carlsbad High School and graduated in 2015. For further studies, he later attended the University of Berkeley where he earned a degree in Sustainable Environmental Design. His passion and mission was to make the planet more sustainable.
