Daveed Diggs whose full name is Daveed Daniele Diggs is an American actor, rapper and musician from Oakland, California. He rose to fame voicing Sebastian in the 2023 live-action version of The Little Mermaid and the recurring role of Johan Johnson in the ABC family sitcom Blackish. Diggs also gained more fame appearing as a singer and experimental hip-hop rapper for a popular 2015 group called Clipping. In addition, Daveed has also won several awards including the 2016 Tony Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of a dual role in a famous Jefferson musical known as Hamilton. Diggs is also the recipient of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album.
Additionally, Daniele grew up as the son of a blended family living in Oakland, California. He was named Daveed after his father, who is a Jewish African-American believer. From there, Diggs made his screen debut after completing a music career with his band The Clipping. He then starred in The Get Down before landing his lead role in Blackish. David then went on to star in other TV shows like Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and The Mayor among other TV shows. Daveed made his film debut writing and producing a track in Zootopia. His work impressed Disney and he is now set to voice the role of Sebastian in the 2023 live-action film The Little Mermaid.
