Heidi Watney is a popular American sportscaster and television personality who currently serves as a correspondent reporter for Apple TV+. Previously, she served as a host and sportscaster for MLB Network, New England Sports in Boston and Time Warner in Los Angeles. Heidi has also appeared in a music video for a Dropkick Murphys record called Going Out in Style. She even worked as a weekend sports anchor for two other stations based in her hometown of Fresno.
Watney was born and raised in Fresno, California to a middle class Native American family. She grew up a very active young girl who loved diving and participating in gymnastics. Heidi attended Clovis West High School located in her hometown. She was a member of the high school cheerleading team and enjoyed doing other activities such as diving and hurdles. Heidi graduated from the University of San Diego with a BA in Journalism. She was able to complete her college studies through a National Merit Scholar scholarship. Witney even competed in the Miss California beauty pageant and won first place in the next round in 2002.
Heidi officially began her sports writing career in early September 2003 as a morning reporter for Fresno-based KMPH News. Eventually, her incredible work ethic earned her the position of weekend sports anchor and daily sports reporter in 2005. In 2008, Heidi left KMPH news and moved to Massachusetts where she served as a reporter for the Boston Red Sox under the New England Sports Network (NESPN).
He also hosted the Ultimate Red Sox show and the Red Sox Show. In 2012, Watney left NESPN and began working as a reporter for Time Warner Cable Sports Net and the LA Galaxy. Heidi spent nearly five years with the LA Galaxy before joining the news team at MLB Network in 2021. She spent nine years in MLB while balancing her work as the host of Quick Pitch. Watney left MLB and Quick Pitch to join Apple TV+ in 2022.
