Sydney started all six games in the Covid-19 shortened 2020 season, finishing with 36 tackles. Sidney started all 12 games and had one sack and 81 tackles in 2021. In 2022 Sidney returned to Illinois for his senior year.
Sydney was ranked Canada's #3 prospect prior to the 2023 CFL draft, although he ultimately went unselected. In the third round, 66th overall, of the 2023 NFL Draft Brown was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles. Sidney recorded his first career interception and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Arizona Cardinals on the exact play when he returned an interception 99 yards from a Kyler Murray pass. Sidney tore his ACL in Week 18 against the New York Giants, ending his season.
