Brandon Simmons is an American journalist currently working as a multi-tasker and reporter at the WKYC studios in Cleveland. Simmons specializes in technology and general assignment reporting having joined 3News in 2011. A self-proclaimed newsroom guy, he helps out in many areas at the station.
As a multi-talented journalist he often works alone. He is responsible for shooting, writing, editing and then reporting the daily news for the evening newscasts. His role also includes the ongoing training of other journalists at 3News. Brandon is passionate about his work and loves everything that comes with it.
Additionally, born and raised in Maple Heights, Cleveland, he attended and graduated from Cleveland State University with a degree in communications with an emphasis in digital media. In 2017, he graduated from Kent State University with a master’s degree in public relations.
Some of his favorite stories to cover over the years include trips to Tampa and Charlotte for the 2012 Republican and Democratic Conventions. Additionally, Simmons played a key role in 3 News’ coverage of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland and the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
