According to a lip reader, King Charles was seen wearing ties before his coronation. It seems the new monarch felt upset about the constant delays to his big day.
He reportedly shared his frustration with his wife, Camilla, as they prepared to enter Westminster Abbey in the golden carriage.
The Daily Mail was told by one of the lip readers that the 74-year-old king had expressed concern over the moment.
“I’m worried about the weather, I mean it’s been longer this time and, well, I mean look! I know.”
Another lipreader said the king said, “We can never be on time.”
The king added: “Yes, I’m…it’s negative. There’s always something.”
In October 2020, Buckingham Palace announced Her Majesty’s coronation. In their statement, they said: “Buckingham Palace is pleased to announce that the Coronation of His Majesty the King will take place on Saturday 6th May 2023.”
They also added that the coronation ceremony would be held at Westminster Abbey, London, and would be conducted by the Archbishop of Canterbury. The ceremony would see His Majesty King Charles III crowned alongside the Queen Consort.
