Beyoncé Calls Fake Pregnancy Rumors ‘Crazy’
The ‘Love On Top’ singer finally responds to rumors that she hired a surrogate instead of carrying her own baby
After months of rumors, Beyoncé is calling out claims that she was faking her pregnancy.
“It was crazy,” the 30-year-old mom told People of rumors that a surrogate was carrying her with Jay-Z’s first child. “It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy. [I thought] ‘Where did they find this?'”
Also “crazy,” Beyoncé said, was the whole prosthetic bump rumor, which spun out of control after the singer/actress was interviewed on an Australian TV show, and her baby bump seemed to deflate when she sat down.
“It was fabric that folded, doesn’t fabric fold?” Beyoncé replied. “Oh my God, so stupid.”
And Beyoncé and Jay-Z weren’t the only ones upset by the rumors.
While her little sister Solange spoke of “ignorance” on Twitter, stories of surrogacy secrets also upset the “Love on Top” crooner’s mother, Tina Knowles.
“I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think someone would be so evil to continue a charade like this for nine months,” Tina said. “As a mother, it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumours. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”
Despite all the “stupid rumours,” however, Beyoncé said the “love and well wishes” from fans around the world helped her get through this.
Meanwhile, the singer is madly in love with her 3-month-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
“I feel more beautiful than ever because I gave birth,” Beyoncé told the magazine. “I’ve never felt so connected, I’ve never felt like I had such a purpose on this earth.”
