Alex Perez Biography
Alex Perez is an American anchor and reporter currently working as a national correspondent for ABC News based in the greater Chicago area, ABCNews. He joined the stations team in March 2012.
Perez is the host of Good Morning America, TonightNightlin and 20/20 on ABC. While reporting, he traveled across the country and around the world. Alex is a hurricane reporter covering the East Coast and Caribbean. In addition, it was observed in Ferguson, Missouri, immediately after the police shooting of Michael Brown.
Alex has also covered the heated 2016 US presidential election and traveled to Rome for Pope Francis’ first Easter celebration. He was fortunate enough to win the coveted Marshall Memorial Fellowship, which allowed him to travel throughout Europe and meet with political leaders.

Alex previously worked for NBC in Chicago as a correspondent from 2005 to 2012. He covered former US President Barack Obama’s first presidential campaign while at NBC. Additionally, from 2003 to 2005, he worked as a reporter for KVIA-TV in El Paso, Texas. Additionally, from 2002 to 2003, Lex worked as a reporter for WKBK-TV 11.
Perez began his studies at University of Illinois in 1998 and graduated in 2002 with a BA in Broadcast Journalism. He is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists and is originally from Chicago.
