He was one of the singers of the American pop-pop band Big Time Rush formed in 2009. The other band members are Kendall Schmidt, James Maslow and Logan Henderson. They released their first BTR album on October 11, 2010 via Columbia Records. The album was in the third place of the American Billboard 200. Pena co-wrote the song "Oh Yeah".
